UnitBirwelco Secures Fired Heater Contract in Siberia

Birwelco Ltd, part of the UnitBirwelco Group, has secured a multi million pound contract to supply equipment to a Russian LNG plant.

Halesowen based Birwelco Limited has been contracted to deliver a specialist 85MW-fired heater for use at the Yamgaz Yamal LNG project in Russia.

The multi-million pound project is anticipated to command 16,000 engineering and project hours and use of Birwelco’s skilled engineers, procurement division and construction team to deliver the 450 tonne modular skid-mounted unit, heater and associated structures.

The fired heater will stand at more than 50 metres tall, weigh in excess of 450 tonnes and will give out in excess of 85 megawatts of heat.

The fired heater is set to be the largest Russian heater provided by the company to date and together with its supporting equipment, will be designed to withstand temperatures in excess of minus 50 degree Celsius.

Birwelco Limited in Halesowen specialises in the delivery of conceptual study through to turnkey projects including process and detailed design of energy and process plants, the design and construction of fired heaters, waste heaters, waster heat recovery units and flares.
