Engineering Firm Awarded Major Russian Contract

Unit Super Heaters (USE), part of the Unit Group of companies, has bucked the manufacturing trend and completed a substantial contract with a major Russian petrochemical company.

The South Wales-based engineering company, which works with big name clients including EDF, Shell and Astra Zeneca in over 22 countries worldwide, has completed the significant order for a 30 tonne high temperature super heater with the Siberian Methanol Chemical Company – marking the company’s first trade in Russia.

Established nearly 100 years ago, USE employs over 87 skilled workers throughout South Wales, and is considered market leader within the highly specialist power and petrochemical industries. USE is the industry leader in the field of workshop fabrication for specialist products within the heat transfer industry. All products are manufactured at USE’s headquarters in Swansea.

Speaking of the company’s substantial contract with the Russian company, Bill Ledwood, Director at Unit Super Heaters, said that the contract in Siberia was a significant boost to the company and would be seen as a landmark achievement for the team: “Gaining the contract to supply this substantial piece of equipment to Russia has been an important marker in the continued progression and ambition of USE and the Unit Group on the whole.
